This is a great place to stay - the village of Cemoro Lawang. It's right on the rim of the giant 16km diameter Tengger caldera (volcano crater) and has amazing views over the Bromo and Batok volcanoes. To the right is a sharp 70m drop into the crater where the morning mist collects and spills over the rim, flowing through the village and down the mountain side to the left.
