For Startrek fans. Ensign Ro Laren appeared on "The Next Generation" and was allowed to wear her ear adornment as part of her heritage even though Federation dress code forbid such items. On the planet Bajor according to the story presented in Startrek, the earrings were used to denote the caste (so called D'jarra) of the wearer. Most Bajoran earrings are said to be handcrafted in "diamide-laced birthium"(Sterling Silver). It is also said that it is likely that the wearing of the earring is connected to the Bajoran belief of pagh, life force, which can be felt in the ears. When you wear a Bajoran earring, you will both feel it and hear it, so there is actually some logic in this!

This is my take on a Bajourn Earring for my DW. Just a fun Piece. The stones were cut for this set from agate.
