Thanks Carmel for the workflow. I'll have to give that a try sometime soon!

Here is the workflow:
Build a dropper which drops water in a constant rate into a coloured jar.
Use tripod and a good flash. Focus manually on the anticipated hit point
Than just hit the shutter until you get a good shot. After a little practice, my success rate was about 30% for keepers.
The colours in the drop are achieved by building a suitable background. In this case, I just placed couple of coloured glass bottles near the window.

Awesome! Was that the R1 or you? Behind every great camera is a steady hand, great eye, and novel idea. How did you get this? Your bare eye cldn't have caught this so did you just guess. How many pics did you take to get this one? What was your strategy to do so? Kudos! (I love your other entry too; great stuff.
Excellent capture - I love the sharpness and clarity of the water drop, and the bright colors and reflections in the drop!

Wow Carmel, you sure had perfect focus on that drop and that's not an easy thing to do! I can see part of a table cloth or maybe it's a dish towel reflected in the drop. Wonderful shot and really a great entry for the challenge.
