MSR Model 9 ( 1973)

Very first MSR stove ever sold back in 1973 was the Model 9 which changed climbing stoves forever. ( Pump is not orginal) This stove still works great and is used still on all big climbing trips!! ( Note : no crossover tube over burner,,short legs on pot stand,,flint starter,,quite handy and a weiard " Crimped" burner bell) Orignal pump is white with a square stamped " MSR " on it..

Monte, I'm pretty sure that one of my old MSRs is this same one, a model 9. I became aware of MSR in its very early days, and bought one of their first stoves and first ice axes, both of which I still have, and both still work fine. Recently, I tend to use one of my multi-fuel models more since I often use kerosene. Great work! What fun! Do you live in Olympia? I visit Olympia about once a month! Bruce Johnson OregonPhotos.com
