Located on the northeast tip of Pelee Island, it was in an obvious state of ruin in 1992 when this photo was taken. The lighthouse has since been restored, and although I haven't been back to see it, a photo of it can be seen at http://www.ethanmeleg.com/peleelh2002.htm

When I was taking photos of this lighthouse, I walked out onto the rip-rap, and was composing a picture, movement at my feet caught my eye. Looking down into the crevices of the rip-rap I saw hundred's of snakes, as big as my arm; I thought I was in "Raiders of the Lost Ark." I set a record getting off the rip-rap, across the beach and back to the roadway.
