This relatively uninteresting bridge photo takes on some interest when you note the left arrow and the bridge deck section offset to the left. This is residual damage from the 1964 earthquake which made this bridge impassible and isolated the town of Cordova. It was repaired but the road beyond it is gone. The section repair cost nearly $1 million and serves only to cross the river to a dead end. To the left is the highly active Child's glacier.
