I like the subtle, faint tones of the backround as contrast to the spot of detail on the foreground. The photo keeps the eye at work for a while.

John, this is a perfect image for the theme! Really love it! Still would reduce it more and would get rid of the color. :-)

John, I love how each piece of land here is part of a layered sequence from most to least visible...a simple construct that really directs the eye. The mist makes it all work so well by simplifying the whole scene & by limiting visibility on all but the closest land element. I really like the way my eyes navigate this scene... nice photo. MFC
