1943 - the U. S. Navy's headquarters building for the Sub Chaser Training Center (SCTC) at Miami

Port of Miami, Miami, Florida

Thank you to Charlie Rice for contributing this great old image of the Navy's Sub Chaser Training Command (SCTC) that was located at Miami's port during World War II.

Charlie says: "The SCTC commandant was Commander Eugene Field McDaniel, an Annapolis graduate who had served aboard the destroyer Livermore on anti-submarine duty in the North Atlantic before his transfer to Miami."

I was born there Oct. 1945. My mother told me the dispensary was on the ocean side and the windows were still painted blacken the ocean side.

I believe that I found the location of the Miami Beach U.S. Navy dispensary. It was at Alton Road & 7th Street.

I was also born at the Naval Dispensary in Miami Beach. The date was Feb 10, 1945. I am looking for any information on the dispensary. I would particularly like to know the location. Thank you.

Could anyone tell me if this was also a U S Naval Dispensary? I was born in 1944 at one on Miami Beach. Have been trying to find any information about it. Appreciate anyone with information, pictures, etc. Thanks.
