I find this image really very interesting. As you say you just photo what you see you never really think about it, i do find that quite hard to believe with this picture. In particular i appreciate the use of depth in this picture it makes me personally want to look at it rather than skip onto the next photograph. The depth in this photo is empathized by the two solo single lines that run parallel to the road. The texture of the roadside is in unprecedented quality and appears to be just as detailed even in the distance, this shows good focusing in my opinon. If you focus to close to yourself you lose detail in the depth of the photo and vice versa if focusing to deep, but like i say with this photo it looks excellent throughout... i trust that was your judgement not Auto focus :) Finally the photo uses it but not as well as it could be. By it i mean the photographic element 'Rule of Thirds' http://www.silverlight.co.uk/tutorials/compose_expose/thirds.html) use that URL if you are unfamilar with that term. The road takes up just over half of the photo but not two thirds. If it had been i believe it would have made the photo that little bit more special, by making it seem less ordinally. Lets face it most photographs are the subject bang in the middle with same space around all sides. After a while these photos are the boring ones but with rule of thirds being used correctly you can catch someones eye.

To round up, good use of line, depth and texture the only improvement i can think of is to consider elements such as rule of third to make your already very good photos stand out and grab peoples attention that little bit more.
