This is a quote from a comment I left on this gallery some time back as an answer to somebody who did not like the subject of this gallery. I am putting it up here again to emphasise the point

I like this gallery very much. I also believe in "live and let live". These pics are sensuous and the photographer captured the passion and love in these shots . As such, we can naturally expect the varied reactions generated by these sets of photos- were rightness or wrongness of the theme is not the goal of this network. Gauging from the long list of comments, i can be said to have achieved its purpose - get the emotional reactions from the viewers. Keep shooting!

Ilan, I just wanted to say that I applaud you stance on deciding not to censor the comments in this gallery. I also have had comments in some of my galleries that people have found “offensive” or “distasteful”, and like you have decided not to censor them. I found this excellent photography quote recently and think it applies here: Each photographer brings his own style to his work. Photography is much more than equipment, and practice. It is a reflection of ones life. What I see through the lens, light is transformed into windows of time. A scene that has faded to a memory remains. Photographs can tell stories, and open our minds to things that are strange, new, and sometimes even wonderful. Other times frightening, or disturbing. Photography is many things to many people. It is as diverse, as we are. It is a reflection of ourselves. Moments..... frozen in time. You do excellent work Ilan. Perhaps what you photograph is not everyone’s “cup of tea”, but that is ok. rainroosty I totally agree with you about some comments being offensive. But I will not delete them and I hope you will not ask Pbase to delete the comments The reason is simple. The whole reason of this gallery is to promote freedoms. As such As I have stated in other comments of mine here, I will no delete other people's opinions. I totally disagree with some of them but they are welcome to keep them. I'm impressed with many of the photos here, particularly the really really really up close ones with great texture. To all those who left comments about the subject matter: If there is a God, do you really think He put you on Earth to hate others that He created? It's just like racism, or sexism. You may call it religious differences or what ever you want, but really? The difference between you and them is this: You are afraid of what you don't understand or feel and they have embraced it. Talk about self centred? To that person who said "proud to be a homophobe": So, you're proud of being afraid of people in love who except that humans are not all the same? Wow, talk about what a brave soul you are! Live and Let Live, What has any gay person done specifically to harm you? Chances are? Absolutely nothing. I won't even start talking about all the ignorant and unintelligible statements made here. I will however make a comment for all the religious smartasses here: Except for one picture, in which a man is on his way to kiss another (we don't even see them really do it), all the homosexual kisses here are between women. For people who speak in the name of God, I advise you go back to your bible and study. Because, guess what, erotic relations between women in the Torah are not prohibited (and yes, they do occur). And if you go farther and ask a big Rabbi, he will tell you that as long as the woman does not forget her duties to her husband (if she has one), there is nothing wrong with that. All you have shown here is not religious, it is your hatred of something different than you, which is not rational and logical as you state your religion is, but purely emotional. The Jewish religion has a lot to give, and there is much wiseness in it. It's too bad that you don't take the time to really inquire and only repeat what you've heard, without reflection.

The sick individual below obviously worships a God who hates, and who especially hates his own creations. Not the loving God I know. I am a heterosexual male father of four adult children who to my knowledge are also heterosexual. However, if any of my children revealed themselves to be homosexual and in a mutually loving relationship with a same sex partner I would be thankful that they were lucky enough to find a loved one to share their lives with. I suspect that anyone who takes the time to write such hateful comments here is probably a very lonely and bitter person who lacks in their own life the degree of love depicted here.
