Jachnun

Jachnun is a prepared from rolled dough, which is then baked on a very low heat for about ten hours.
It is traditionally eaten with a crushed/grated tomato dip, hard boiled eggs and skhug.
Jachnun is usually served Saturday mornings, having been left in the oven overnight.

The blue of the table cloth really pushes the plate and contents forward.

Beautifully presented - the blue of the tablecloth contrasts really well with the red and yellows on the plate...the jachnun looks really tasty too!

Fascinating! Have never heard of this, but it looks quite good! At first glance I thought it was an eggroll. I would definitely like to try this. Are there seasonings or other ingredients inside of the rolled dough?

Is the bread sweet, or savory? Do you have a recipe for the tomato sauce that you would share?
