(Lepilemur ruficaudatus)
A squirrel sized lemur with long bushy tail and an upright body posture. It moves in short rapid leaps and bounds. It inhabits dry deciduous forests, coastal moist forests and some secondary growth in the west of the island. It is strictly nocturnal emerging from its daytime nest at dusk to groom and stretch at which time it can be quite vocal.
These photographs were all taken on a night walk from the Swiss Camp at Kirindy forest reserve.
