In
March 2009 I visited the West African country of Ghana on a Tropical Birding
trip led by Ken Behrens. The local agent was Ashanti African Tours operated by
Mark Williams with Robert Ntakor as our lead local guide assisted by William
Apraku. It was a most enjoyable trip with good views of some remarkable birds.
The highlights were undoubtedly the views of the Yellow-headed Picathartes in
the gloom of the forest as thunder
rumbled around us and of the indignant stare of the Pel’s Fishing Owl who had
been disturbed from his daytime roost.
See the Tropical Birding web site for details of their tours and to view the trip report. Also please visit the web site of Ashanti African Tours.
