Loch Droma can be a desolate place at the best of times but to see it coated in thick blue ice beneath an equally blue sky with just three remote lonely Scots pine trees on the far shore is surely the very essence of loneliness. Needless to say I went straight off to Ullapool for a mug of hot chocolate afterwards.
