I love theatrical weather but this really did take the biscuit and left me quaking in my boots. Half way up Tom Na Gruigach is no place to be when a thunderstorm hits. I was pelted with hail and emerged from behind a solitary rock dazed and beaten. It duly passed and the most extraordinary shafts of sunlight peppered the red grasses causing them to glow surreally. I threw caution to the wind and grabbed two quick shots. I should probably let you know, that isn't a particularly badly placed graduated filter, it is a shaft of blinding sunlight reflecting off steam emanting from the grass. The light was almost as horizontal as the hail had been. This is close to being a favourite shot of mine.
