I had made firm plans in my mind to try and capture a transient sunset over the island of Taransay off the coast of Traigh Rosamol in Harris but upon our arrival there the sun looked like it would play hard to get. Normally I would be down on the beach but in the end I opted for an elevated over view and just hoped the race between the impending storm brewing on the horizon and the speed with which the setting sun dropped into the sea would be won by the sunset. It was, barely, and shortly after I got a wee bit damp, but that light for those few seconds before the sun finally disappeared was sublime.
