Garvie Bay is filled with red rocks and backs on to a bay that frequently turns turquoise. At the far end of the beach a fresh water stream discharges from a loch with considerable vigour and bounces over stones that are covered in luminous green algae. With a Spring storm brewing behind, the sky went immensely dark but above me a light cloud acted like an enormous reflector punching soft white light down on my scene creating a colossal amount of luminosity, causing the stones to quite literally glow.
