On a fantastic deep snow day in Scotland I found myself out with a group of photographers on Dava moor. The road across had been closed off to cars which actually worked to our advantage. We duly parked up and then walked up the road which had a few inches of snow covering it. The temperatures were extreme at minus 20 degrees celcius but the day was so fine that we found ourselves out in it all day and it culminated in this volcanic red sunset. The expanse of sky that was lit up proved huge but the position was awkward so I compromised with the crimson flush placing it to one side for the sake of a stronger composition.
