Message from Lisa Hunt
I have been combining my love of travel with photography for a number of years. My travels have taken me to Egypt, where I collected both ancient and modern images and South Africa, where I collected images inspired by nature. On my visit to China I collected images representing ancient chinese architecture and culture, as well as modern Hong Kong. Most recently in Greece (and one town in Turkey) religion played a role in my images, with many historical sites, cathedrals and chapels. My work consists of unique arrangements, and gravitates toward unusual angles, forms and shapes. Sometimes what makes up a “whole” is the interesting arrangement of its parts, and I photograph those smaller parts—taking them out of their usual context and making them stand alone. The architect works hours designing each line, the sculptor each curve, the ocean each coral reef, and I seeks to capture those intimate parts of each whole.
The following list of past, credits, exhibits, and shows. I have been taking a break from my photography in recent years, but I hope to become more active in the coming years.
