I have been a HONDA diehard for years and for me
to change to another brand shows that Yamaha has a
hell of a bike with the FJR.
Here are some photos including a 2000 mile trip through Nevada, Utah and Arizona.
(Odometer: 500-2500 miles)
MPG- During canyon riding I get 40 mpg.
During freeway riding while in Utah and Az. where the
vehicles average 90 mph I cruise for long periods at 100 mph and I
get 53 mpg.
I have the ABS and I strongly suggest it for your bike.
The FJR has a 1300cc (1.3 liter) engine with 145 hp and is
nicknamed among the FJR crowd "Rocket".
RPM @ 70mph=4k. 80mph= 4.5k. 90mph=5k. 125mph=7k. Redline is 9k.
Roy, it's 2015, I had discovered the 2005 FJR these last two years, everything you describe holds true today about this bike 10 years later. Two greatest bikes designed in my opinion is the FJR and the 2003 Harley Davidson V-Rod.
