Banqueting House

"Having been forced to abandon Old Wardour in 1644,
the Arundells returned in the 1680s to build a new,
smaller house just outside the castle wall.
It was to be almost 100 years before they built
and moved into New Wardour a little distance away.

"In the meantime, the family began to develop the grounds around the Old Castle,
and the Banqueting House was part of this plan."
