We are the masters...
12 October 2005 (26)

Fovant, Salisbury, UK

Walked along the landing, and noticed that the view through the doorway into the spare bedroom was a little like a Dutch 'old master'...
-- with a glimpse of plant and clavichord (in this case, my stage piano, that's been usurped by my sister's more authentic instrument...) --
so, as the rain is fairly insistent again, thought I'd make it today's picture.

Not entirely convinced that it works (I generally don't do much post-processing in Photoshop), but I'll let you, the viewer, decide....

Two separate images create different moods in my mind's eye. The photoshop version struggles with all the added texture and the light subtleties are flattened out. Sorry, I really prefer the original. It's a beautiful clear clean photo with outstanding nuances of lighting effects and I love the clarity of that gorgeous bedcover and wall shadows. But of course I generally don't care much for photoshop 'art' that leaves the good original image basically in tact. For me, it most usually cheapens the original image. However, some poor original photos can be much improved with creative photoshop work. Opps... I'm getting carried away here.

I think this works well. You ought to have a look at Autumn Sky's galleries.
