Some 28 hrs. boat ride into the Pacific from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico are a few small islands which are known for diving with manta rays, dolfins, humpback whales and lots of sharks. One of the islands, Roca Partida, is hardly larger than our boat. Diving around it was like diving around a skyscraper. The bottom was 400 ft. deep and a little further out from the base is thought to be 10,000 ft. deep. An exciting time for our group of 25 from all parts of the globe. Most frequently seen were humpback whales which were regularly seen and some of the group would enjoy snorkeling with them. They were fast and very allusive, when attempting to catch up with them. One push with their tail and mom and calf were gone from sight. Always a treat when their presence and underwater songs graced us.
Thank you very much for posting your photos. I just booked a trip on the Nautilus Explorer in March 2015 with some friends. Your whale photos are awesome, but I really, really enjoyed the very colorful fishes. "V"
