This Police Headquarters in Hollywood Road was built in 1919. Until WW II the complex served as headquarters for law enforcement throughout the territory. During the dark years of occupation (1941 - 1945) the station functioned as the Japanese Police headquarters but was reoccupied by the Hong Kong Police in September 1945.
The whitewashed walls of outdated but useful structures still serve as Regional Police Headquarters for Hong Kong Island and are now elevated to the status of historic monument under the Antiquities Ordinance.
