Is there a photo of him stirring the Xmas pudding as he was the youngest at HMS Ganges in 1965

Hello, can anyone help me find a photograph of two battalions of boys taken around 1887 to 1888? My grandfather was the Instructing Gunner at that time and made many improvements. The Inspecting Commodore arranged for the photographs so that they could be displayed on other training ships.
I'm not sure how this forum works but hope someone may be able to point me in the right direction.
Thank you,
Patricia, granddaughter of Richard Cowle, R.N.

I just read a book about the 1953 floods in Essex and was delighted to see that boys from HMS Ganges were mentioned helping out rescuing people in Harwich which was badly flooded.
So well done and is there any record of this at the Museum ?? Also I read a book called Sealand about the WW2 Forts off Harwich being a micro nation!which mentioned the HMFT Benbow being used in the attempt to land a party of Marines on the fort back in 1964. Benbow, together with MFV1256 was one of the MFVs attached to Ganges for Sea Training before the Inshore Minesweepers came along. All very interesting.

Hello, I am currently researching my family history and I would like to find information relating to my cousin Ian Burton. The details I have so far are HMS Ganges 4971 Explorer Mess/Annexe. I thinks he would have been there around the sixties. I would like to know if possible when he left the navy and where he went to. A photograph would be great. Thanking you in anicipation, Keith Brightwell
