The man looks affluent by the shirt that he is wearing. However, he must have suffered from a stroke. His right hand is folded as that which do not have the full function. The picture does not show the left hand that must be holding on to a cane to help him balance and walk. The picture tells the story of how fortune may treat us. The bowed head, well groomed hair and rich shirt tells much of the man. Seems like the picture of man who will not surrender to the misfortunes of life. How I wish you included the crook of his cane.
