When naming this piece, Peter forgot that he had 2 previous pieces named Baby Boomer, hence the (III)).
It was the unusual looks and mating rituals sported by this rather unusual bird, the Prairie Chicken, or 'Boomer', which captured Peter's imagination. With his usual skill he has captured each individual feather & the essence of this colorful chicken. Inside the interior has a carved tiny yellow chick – hence the piece's name.
