Unfortunately, during the Fall of 2011, NYU destroyed over 40 rose bushes that ringed the perimeters of the Sasaki Garden and never replaced them. Consequently, practically all of these rose blooms will never be seen in this garden again. The white rose bush trellis in the middle of the garden were the only bushes that were not destroyed. Near the end of May 2012, I noticed the roots of 3 bushes were not entirely removed and they have begun to bloom so some yellow, peach and red roses can be found back in the garden. On July 25, 2012, the NYC Government approved the NYU2031 Plan to destroy this entire garden area to build two new skyscraper buildings.
