Since I began photographing the Washington Square Village Sasaki Garden Fountain area, about 10 years ago, the fountain did not work and the area was a poorly maintained eyesore with a high fence surrounding a deep pool of water.

This summer, the fountain area was renovated with new water jets and a shallow reflecting pool and a nearby flower garden. It has now become one of my favorite areas in the garden to photograph.
