On a family outing to the isle of Ameland, one of the Dutch Wadden islands, I witnessed the demonstration of the launching of the lifeboat "Abraham Fock". We weren't aware this was going on, but the woman we rented the apartment from luckily told us. It was a cold but bright day promising a good sunset, so I was excited to see the spectacle with dusk approaching. It all happened very fast, we had to run to see the best of it and avoid getting the crowds in the picture - some 700 people were watching. I like the warm colours and the action, and power of the wet and steaming horses and the brawny men accompanying them. This is part of a large series "launching the lifeboat", that even made it to number 1 in the Pbase populars and stayed there for 10 days.
