There’s a new hero in my country and it’s a dog.
Her name is Tara, she’s a Belgian shepherd. They call her: ‘the money dog’.
Tara has a very good nose for sniffing. She knows the smell of money bills.
It’s her job to sniff the clothing and luggage of passengers at Schiphol Amsterdam Airport.
She’s looking for drug money, criminal money, false money, smuggler’s money, stuff like that.
Last year Tara discovered more than 4 million Euro! It’s a new record.
She found it in underwear, jogging pants and under false bottoms in suitcases.
The biggest catch was 500.000 Euro two humans carried hidden in special leggings.
It’s illegal to take more than 10.000 Euro in cash through Dutch customs.

Tara is famous now. I hope they gave her a big bonus!
