Scenes from a Riyadh Neighborhood

We came across this neighborhood one evening on our way back home from a supermarket, and I was so intrigued by a gate there I wanted to go back and see more. It’s not as upscale a neighborhood as the one I photographed last year, but I always find it interesting to see how people live here.

Even though not as "upscale" as the previous neighborhood, this one certainly has lot of visual delights well worth photographing. Great work once again, Helen. ~BV~

Almost like monks that hide in a monastery, but If I think about my own country, the rich people hide their homes too on large estates or behind trees.

What a difference a continent makes. None of these structures would fit into my neighborhood, for sure, but somehow they make sense where you live now. Life is hidden behind facades and you can only guess what goes on behind these ornate doors and gates. No names, no numbers, no faces, no welcome signs.
