We had been shopping at a local hardware store, and after we pulled out of the parking lot, a gate down the street caught my eye. One gate led to another, and before I knew it we were driving up and down the streets photographing many of them.

This appears to be a very new development, with enormous, single-family dwellings. I don’t even know the name of the neighborhood, just where it is. We frequent that hardware store, so I’m sure we’ll be back to explore the streets we missed (which I think were a lot). The Saudis seem to have a real penchant for beautiful doors and gates, old and new, and one sees them everywhere here.

Most images in this gallery are of the front gates, with some of the residences as well. This was a very upscale area that would be very nice to live in!
