I have decided to do sub-galleries of all the places we visited on this tour of the Gulf and will be copying in some of the pictures previously posted in the overview gallery.

Oman has to be my favorite of the Gulf States, and after two visits, I could go back yet again (and will). The country is ruggedly beautiful, the people are incredibly friendly, and it’s also a true success story of a nation that went from total isolation from the rest of the world to an integrated economy, a state pleased with the reforms of its sultan and one that is making its way quite handily in the world. For anybody seeking a taste of the Middle East in a hospitable environment that has also become the destination of European travelers, I would highly recommend Oman.

As we spent a week in Muscat last year, we didn’t feel it necessary to see all the same things, plus we were only in Muscat for two days and a night this time, sadly.
