Makó: More Than Just Hungary's Onion Capital

Makó is a quiet little town on the Southern Plain, not far from the Serbian border. It is Hungary's onion capital, but it is also host to some very major architecture by the late Hungarian organic architect Imre Makovecz as well as a number of grand old buildings. In addition, it is where Joseph Pulitzer, of the famous prize, was born and is also famous for its therapeutic baths in Maros radioactive mud.
