The Lotus and Water Lily Festival is an annual event at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, a national park in Washington, D.C. We usually go earlier to the four-week affair but were unable to this year due to thunderstorms one weekend and excessively hot temperatures and unbelievable humidity another. By the time we finally got there, a lot of the lotuses had already bloomed, but there were still many on display, along with water lilies, egrets, butterflies and dragonflies. All in all, it was time well spent.
