Confused leaf?

There are leaves like this all over our back stairs, having fallen from our next door neighbor’s “forest” that hangs over our property. This may be normal for some trees — I have no idea — but to me it looked like the tree couldn't decide what season it was.

The weather is causing similar things here, perhaps heat + not much moisture (which is the case here)/ But a very pretty shot~ V

Make this leaf in copper, and I can see a very brooch on some lady's lapel. Do you have a photo of the entire tree. My guess is that the coloration is heat stress (or lack of water) related.
