The Bring Our Families Home Campaign has unveiled a new mural in Georgetown featuring the faces of 11 Americans held hostage or wrongfully detained abroad, aiming to introduce these American captives to the public, media and senior political leaders. In July 2022 the campaign had unveiled a similar mural in this same location, featuring 18 Americans detained at that time — including WNBA player Brittney Griner — which I had photographed after it was installed.
I think this is part of the original mural and that some new faces were added at the other end, which I was unable to access due to our precarious parking situation. However, given the huge amount of time we spent in heavy traffic and gridlock trying to get there, I’m posting this picture and will try to go back and get the new section, when we have an entire day to devote to what should be a 20-minute drive.
