Keeping watch

They say the elbow surgery was successful, but the recovery will take 3-9 months. I can’t use my (dominant) left hand very much (still have to type one handed), but at least my fingers, although incredibly swollen and discolored, are no longer encased in the splint!

So sorry to hear that the recovery will take a while. Hopefully you will be fully healed at three months, or at least 99%. I assume that the circumstances of your injury also caused some psychological distress. It's good to see from one of your subsequent posts that you are getting out and about. That is excellent therapy.
Meanwhile Queenie will protect you from the doves(?).
Best wishes Helen.

Glad to hear that your surgery went well. Three months after surgery seems to be in line for 100% healing. That was how long it took my husband's wrist to heal when he slipped on ice and broke it. Breaks near a joint take a little extra time. I'm guessing the 9 months that your doctor mentioned is probably the time it will take before all occasional slight twinges are gone and you are able to 100% forget you ever had a break. That takes a little more time. However, knock on wood, 3 months from now, you should hopefully have full use of your hand and arm. Getting the surgery done was probably the hardest point. You're now on the road to full recovery.

Great your surgery was a success Hellen. I wish you speedy healing. Nice fun shot.

Glad to hear the operation was a success but that's a long recovery time - hopefully they were just being conservative.

bon rétablissement à vous ! v

I feel your frustration. Can Tim function in the kitchen? Bill really can't. Voice recognition for entering text both on the phone and computer is tremendously helpful. Hope your healing will go quicker than you are anticipating. Also with the phone I imagine you can tell the camera to take a picture. I oft n use that when both of my hands aren't available.

Gave me a smile to see this photo. 3-9 months, yikes that’s a long recovery time. Let’s hope for the shorter time and a smooth recovery.
