Akebono at embassy event

Akebono Tarō was a Hawaiian-born sumo wrestler who reached the highest rank in sumo of yokozuna. We had a friend who knew him personally, so got to attend private gatherings with him. He died in Tokyo in 2024 at the age of 54.
