When we lived in Riyadh, we used to drive around Saudi neighborhoods photographing the magnificent gates that every house had http://pbase.com/helenpb/riyadh_gates The Diplomatic Quarter, where we lived, was originally meant for embassies and their diplomatic staff, but gradually more Saudis moved in, although they never had the beautiful gates found outside the DQ. It looks like that’s changing now.
