Street festivities, Singapore

The note on my picture only says “Boat Quay,” so perhaps Jeremy will know where I was talking about. It looks to me like some kind of Indian celebration or performance.

It certainly is some kind of Indian celebration or performance but I don't know what it is. And both Boat Quay and Clarke Quay are very popular food + entertainment precincts in Singapore today, especially at night when the weather is cooler. Both are located along the Singapore River. Boat Quay is closer to the river mouth, and it is called the 'Belly of the Carp' because of its location at the curve of the river that resembles the fish, before it enters Marina Bay. You probably won't be able to recognise both precincts if you visit today, because they would have undergone numerous rounds of upgrading/renovation since your last visit, and they are today very trendy, glitzy and happening, packed with tourists and locals till the early hours of the morning ...
