Not a happy camper

We gave Queenie a bath at a local grooming parlor, long overdue and the first we’ve ever given her. She didn’t want to get into the enclosure, so much so that an employee had to help us get her in. She calmed down once in but kept shaking the water off, getting both Tim and I soaked. Finally, it was over, and she made a beeline for the door, I’m sure hoping to never have to go back again.

Beautiful shot of Queenie looking a little bit bewildered but not overly distressed.

Haha! This looks tougher than the car wash ;-) V

Oh, she looks so unhappy, however, hope the effort was worthwhile. A truly sweet capture of Queenie . v

She looks SO miserable!! All my dogs had the same look at bath time! It is like we are punishing them, yet so many love the water otherwise, especially if it is in a river or wetland!! V

Such a sad face, but such a sweet shot. My love and I gave Magpie a bath in her step in bath tub it worked great.

She looks resigned here. It's a big job bathing a dog her size! V

Poor girl. When Rocky was a pup we tried giving him baths and he hated it and often held a grudge about it. So now we use a groomer.

She really doesn't look happy.
Would tying her to a fence in the garden and washing her there work? We used to do that with Fudge. Just carried basins of warm water from the house to get him wet, then shampooed and rinsed. He never really minded, in fact, I think he enjoyed it in hot weather. But then he was a Lab and loved water.
Maybe she'd find it less stressful

I think you should take her back regularly so that she can not only get used to it but actually enjoy it.

Now a walk in the rain probably wouldn't be so bad but a bath is another story for her! I'll bet she looked great after - how did you two look?

This makes me glad I have tiny dogs. My current girls get bathed about every other week in the kitchen sink. Bella "air swims" when I hold her up in one hand to rinse her off with the spray hose in the other hand. Back when I was actively showing dogs, those Chihuahuas often got bathed twice a week. Same process. While traveling, they would fit in a hotel room sink (even without the hose attachment) for their bath. I could rinse them under the facet. Small dogs do have their advantages. Bailey absolutely loves the hair drier (my Dyson) after a bath. Bella and Chile hate the air drier, but towel drying them is pretty easy. They love the attention. In warm weather, they are allowed to go outside to play to finish drying. It's funny to watch them.

Poor Queenie really looks stressed. How did you dry her afterwards? I'm sure this won't be the only bath she ever will have while living with you. If you have a hand spray attachment for showering, maybe bathing her in your bathtub at home would be easier next time. Not as scary.
