Netherlands Carillon

The Netherlands Carillon is a 127-foot-tall campanile housing a 53-bell carillon located in Arlington County, Virginia. The instrument and tower were given in the 1950s "From the People of the Netherlands to the People of the United States of America" to thank the United States for its contributions to the liberation of the Netherlands in 1945 and for its economic aid in the years after.

The carillon is situated on a ridge overlooking the Potomac River and Washington, D.C., and it provides expansive views of the National Mall, West Potomac Park and Arlington National Cemetery. (Wikipedia)

This bell tower is a work of art. I'd love to hear the 53 bells ringing.

Even though it is old is looks so elegant and modern.

In the town of Heiligerlee (province of Groningen, the Netherlands), there has long been a bell foundry (built 1862). The bells of this carillon were most likely made in this foundry. The company went bankrupt in 1980. Since 1987, the Bell Foundry Museum has been located in the restored business premises.
Thanks for sharing Hellen! ~V
