Crowds, cars and the Washington Monument

We were trying to get across the river to Virginia, and it took more than an hour for what’s normally a 15 minute drive due to all the people who had come to see the cherry blossoms, not only on the Tidal Basin but pretty much everywhere around the city.

I guess the beautiful blossoms attract the crowds for only short period of time. Tis is such a nice image of the Washington Monument.
