There were lots of people sitting on marble benches that lined the display islands. This was a particularly popular spot to sit and one I had to go back to several times to get the picture I wanted, at least without people's heads in the way.
The sign for this model says:
‘Prototype for a Possible Herbarium
Specimen of Encyclia phaantempensis’
Inspired by Encyclia tampensis var. alba, Butterfly Orchid, found from Florida to the Bahamas, It was created by Phaan Howng, a Taiwanese-American artist based in Baltimore, in FDM and resin 3D print, steel, wood, papier mache, rubber paint and acrylic paint in 2023.
I find it interesting that the artist always incorporates her first name, Phaan, into the title of her artworks.
