Summer beauty

Not sure what kind of flower this is – zinnia, maybe? – but it caught my eye while walking home from the dentist the other day.

Beautiful image and flower Helen. A Zinnia for sure as others have said. I had these in my garden for many years to attract insects (bees, butterflies etc) and hummingbirds. Finches like them too for their seeds.

I think it's a zinnia, one of my favorite flowers - not a flashy and shiny as dahlias, but with a more subtle beauty.
