This red-winged blackbird, or a cousin of his, is always hanging around Constitution Gardens whenever we visit. We usually see Mrs. R. W. Blackbird in the bushes, too, but she was nowhere to be found that day. This is only minimally cropped; he was standing about 4 feet from us and didn’t seem bothered at all.
Unfortunately, the great blue heron was gone, as were the cormorants; the only other birds there were a lot of mallards and a single Canada goose.
