The ‘eagles’ have landed, New Delhi

Tim took this picture in one of the large gardens he visited and asked the tour guide what kind of birds they were. The guide said they were eagles, but Tim wasn’t too sure about that. In any case, they don’t look like the enormous birds that were flying around the area where his hotel was located.

Thanks to Vijay for identifying the birds as black kites or cheels. common birds of prey in India.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly unsharp.

Yes, Black Kites; that forked tail is a give-away. The same species also occurs here.
