Normal weekend traffic in the old part of Ankara

Samanpazarı is the old part of Ankara (see previous picture), where the castle is located. Its main streets and alleys are full of shops and vendors, although there are still some very old houses at the top of the hill. We had friends who owned a carpet shop here, and we stopped by almost every weekend. This is what we had to go through to get there.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly unsharp.

No traffic lights are necessary in these congested streets and pedestrians can also cross safely.....V
